I posted this job listing mainly to let people in on the process the racing commission undergoes and the qualifications they demand for this postion.

The result were a few less than positive comments, which i suppose i should have been expected.

I wanted to include a portion of one of the comments: "it would be nice if the stewards had to explain their decision on a race like they do at some tracks in california."

I could not agree more. First, what constitues a foul needs to be defined. It seems to vary from track to track and also from decision to decision. Then when a review is complete, rather than the stewards passing along something to the announcer that may or may not be accurate, one of the stewards should explain the ruling and whether or not it was a unanimous ruling.

The betting public has the right to know. There is no appeal process for the punters once the official sign is lit.

In an industry striving for transparency, this should be a no-brainer.
