Rhone Wins 1,000th

Thoroughbred trainer Bernell Rhone recorded his 1,000th career victory when Cooltime won the sixth race at Remington Park in Oklahoma City, OK on Sunday. Cooltime, ridden by Rhone’s son in law Dean Butler, is owned by Will Carlson of Saint Paul, MN and Jerry Pint of New Prague, MN.

Rhone, a Canterbury Park Hall of Fame member, was the first trainer to bring a horse onto the grounds in the spring of 1985 at the then soon-to-open Canterbury Downs racetrack. He has operated a stable at the Shakopee, MN track each season since and was the leading trainer in 1996.
