Apprentice jockey Jenna Joubert, a native of New Prague, MN won the first stakes race of her career aboard Richard's Kid in the $50,000 John B. Campbell Handicap on Saturday at Laurel Park. Joubert rallied from more than 20 lengths off the pace to win the 1 1/8 mile Campbell for trainer Richard Small.......

A source close to the situation has indicated that Hamazing Destiny, the 3-year-old Salt Lake colt that broke his maiden at Oaklawn at first asking, has been sold in a seven figure transaction. Hamazing Destiny recorded a 94 Beyer Speed Figure in his 10 1/2 length romp for trainer Mac Robertson and owner Barry Butzow of Eden Prairie, MN.

Congratulations to the hometown gal... She has enjoyed continued success in 2008 and as a homer I love to see when Minnesota gets some notoriety within the industry.
